HONG KONG, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Securities and Futures Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Monday jointly announced a slew of measures to deepen capital market cooperation between the HKSAR and the Chinese mainland.
The move supports qualified mainland companies to list in Hong Kong and qualified Hong Kong-listed firms to raise funds in mainland bourses. Qualified Hong Kong firms will also be encouraged to issue corporate bonds in the mainland.
Mainland and Hong Kong index companies will work together to launch more indices based on Chinese assets in an effort to lift the global profile of Chinese indices and assets.
Procedures will be streamlined for Hong Kong securities and futures professionals to acquire licences to practice in the mainland with greater ease, according to the Monday announcement.
The regulators also vowed to enhance cooperation in risk monitoring, information sharing and global financial governance. ■
