JAKARTA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and six others injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a trailer truck carrying rolls of paper in Pasuruan regency, Indonesia's East Java province, on Monday morning, local police said.

A local police officer said the trailer truck was believed to have lost control and collided with two trucks traveling in the opposite direction.

The vehicle then crossed the central median, struck a water tanker, several motorcycles and some houses before coming to a stop, he said.

Three people died at the scene, while the trailer truck driver later died in hospital, bringing the death toll to four.

The six injured victims were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, while police continued to investigate the cause of the accident. ■
