BEIRUT, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Ambassador for China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry Li Chengwen said Wednesday that China is ready to cooperate with Lebanon under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Li made the remarks during his meeting with Charles Rizk, head of the board of directors of Fouad Chehab Foundation and former Lebanese minister.

The Chinese official said that China supports a prosperous Lebanon and works on enhancing mutual trust between the two countries.

For his part, Rizk said that Lebanon's participation in the Belt and Road Initiative is an ideal way to finance projects such as electricity and water in the country.
