DHAKA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of local and foreign representatives have attended a reception in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zhang Zuo, who hosted the reception, welcomed the guests including ministers, law makers, diplomats, senior politicians, journalists and top businessmen, among others, at the event.

In his welcome speech, Zhang pointed out China's remarkable achievements over the past 69 years, including decades of reform and opening-up as China embarked on the journey of economic prosperity and national rejuvenation.

The ambassador highlighted the glorious journey of over four decades of Bangladesh-China ties which were upgraded to a strategic partnership of cooperation in 2016.
