TOKYO, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands around the 111 yen line in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.02-03 yen compared with 110.95-111.05 yen in New York and 111.61-62 yen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1665-1666 dollars and 129.50-51 yen against 1.1666-1676 dollars and 129.48-58 yen in New York and 1.1701-1703 dollars and 130.60-64 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
