AMMAN, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Qatar will provide around 1,000 jobs for Jordanians in the next two months, Jordan's Minister of Labor Samir Murad said Tuesday.

The minister made his remarks in a statement following a meeting with Qatari officials in Doha, where he said a committee was formed between the two countries to secure jobs for Jordanians after Qatar recently pledged to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanians.

"The job vacancies will be in various sectors of health, education, construction, agriculture and financial sector," said the minister.

He added that the ministry will soon announce the mechanism and how Jordanians can apply to benefit from the vacancies.

Last month, Qatar announced that it would provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanians, in addition to a package of investments in infrastructure projects in Jordan valued at 500 million U.S. dollars.
