VIENTIANE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese companies have recently signed an MoU with department under Lao science and technology ministry over measurement services.

She Xiechuan, general manager of Lao Technology Development Co. Ltd., a Chinese company in Laos, told Xinhua on Sunday that his company, together with Chengdu Metrology and Testing Institute, signed the MoU with the Department of Standardization and Metrology under Lao Ministry of Science and Technology in the Lao capital of Vientiane.

Signing ceremony for the agreement on the establishment of a measurement standard and technical services for the testing and calibration of measuring instruments, was held on Friday.

"Metering work is closely related to daily life. It is a major foundation for creating an impartial social operation, an indispensably important stage for the development of a country, and it is an important evidence of fairness and justice," General Manager She said.

According to She, his company and the Chengdu Metrology and Testing Institute decided to join hands with the Lao government after thoroughly investigating the measurement work in Laos.

"We are determined to make full use of the advantages of private enterprises and government agencies," he said. "With the direction and support of the relevant departments of the two countries, we will spare no effort to develop Laos' measurement work."
