PYONGYANG, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Saturday the recent inter-Korean talks have proved the two sides can solve all problems between them if both sides really want to.

The official daily Rodong Sinmun said in an article that "now is time for the north and the south to have sincere discussion on the issue of improving their relations and seek a way out for the nation."

The DPRK and South Korea on Tuesday held their first high-level talks in almost two years in the truce village of Panmunjom, achieving a number of agreements ranging from cooperation in the PyeongChang Olympics to taking measures to ease tensions on the peninsula.

The talks came after the DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Un offered to improve relations with South Korea in his New Year's speech on Jan. 1.

Also on Saturday, South Korea and the DPRK agreed to hold working-level talks next week to discuss the DPRK's dispatch of its art troupe to the Winter Olympics hosted by South Korea, according to Seoul's unification ministry.
